چکیده

ABSTRACT SITELLE, an imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer, is part of the Canada–France–Hawaii instrument suite. It delivers spectral cubes covering 11 arcmin × field view with a seeing-limited spatial resolution and tunable (R ∼ 1–10 000) in selected bands visible range (350–900 nm). We present complete picture calibration accuracy obtained SITELLE processing pipeline ORBS. put particular emphasis on description our phase correction method assessment flux precision. show that absolute uncertainty to be considered between −15 per cent 5 cent. Flexure likely responsible for wavelength error gradient across view, amplitude corresponding 15 25 km s−1; measurements night-sky emission lines when science cube reduces this ∼2 s−1. The astrometric limited ∼1 arcsec by optical distortions. Considering transform spectrometers are not as widely used dispersive because its prototype first instruments their kind provide data near-UV at high over very large we took great care explaining most core concepts behind technique well exploring all practical limitations affect precision calibrations. As such, paper aims providing solid ground subsequent developments astronomy.

Calibration of the Geostationary Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer (GIFTS)

The NASA New Millennium Program’s Geostationary Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer (GIFTS) requires highly accurate radiometric and spectral calibration in order to carry out its mission to provide water vapor, wind, temperature, and trace gas profiling from geostationary orbit. A calibration concept has been developed for the GIFTS Phase A instrument design. The in-flight calibration is pe...

Birefringent Fourier-transform imaging spectrometer.

Fourier-transform imaging spectrometers offer important advantages over other spectral imaging modalities, such as, a wider free spectral range, higher spectral resolutions and, in low-photon-flux conditions, higher signal-to-noise ratios can be achieved. Unfortunately, for application in harsh environments, deployment of Fourier-transform instruments based on traditional moving-mirror interfer...

Technique for the metrology calibration of a Fourier transform spectrometer.

A method is presented for using a Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) to calibrate the metrology of a second FTS. This technique is particularly useful when the second FTS is inside a cryostat or otherwise inaccessible.

Calibration algorithm for Fourier transform spectrometer with thermal instabilities.

Complex domain calibration is an efficient method to correct the amplitude and phase of a spectrum obtained from a Fourier transform spectrometer. This method is, however, not directly applicable in the occurrence of a zero path difference (ZPD) shift between a scene interferogram and calibration blackbody interferograms. This situation is likely to happen for a system with thermal instabilitie...
